Well, it's been a couple of months now that we have all been sheltering in place. We hope you have been able to get through it without too much disruption. We are aware that for many there have been losses of income and connection; boredom, stress and anxiety. Others have been luckier and have found the quiet and slowness a surprise blessing. Whatever your experience, we hope you have found some positive in this time and some personal learning you can take forward as the world begins to turn again.
Although the governor has deemed it safe to re-open businesses and put folks back to work, we do not yet feel comfortable opening our home to the community. We will cancel our May meeting, and see where we stand in June.
There are many resources out there to help us all get through this, and we hope you are taking advantage of some of them. We will list a few below.
Workshop this Fall!
We are planning to host a 4-day workshop with our friend and teacher, Marion Gilbert. Details as we know them are below, and we will add information as it becomes available. Many of the locations we are looking at are either not open and are unable to respond to our inquiry; or not able to make even a tentative commitment quite yet. And, of course, if it is not safe to meet as a group by November, the workshop will still happen; we will simply move it online. So if you are interested, please mark your calendar, and watch for details as they become available.
Thanks for your support and stay safe and stay healthy until we meet again!

We hope to see you in June . . . fingers crossed that all this craziness, all this hubbub and all the fear and precautions will resolve themselves sooner than later. We will plan to delay our series on Subtypes until we feel like things have settled down and it's safe once again. We hope that we can start again in May. And if not . . . well we'll get it done.
THE SOMATIC ENNEAGRAM
Somatic Awareness Using the Enneagram Map
Marion Gilbert, R.P.T.
November 18-21, 2020
So often we are not able to change the way we react and find ourselves repeating behaviors that are not giving us internal fulfillment or contribute to lasting relationships. The promise of the Enneagram is that we can recognize patterns of behavior in ourselves and in others, according to our different views. This can help us have a greater understanding and compassion for the different ways we think, feel and sense. As we have added the Somatic (Soma means "body" in Greek) aspect of the cognitive-emotional map, transformation can take place through an integration of the three centers of intelligence: Head, Heart and Body.
Marion will present the first two modules (of five) this November of her Somatic Enneagram Program: 1) Introduction to Somatic Awareness Practice; and 2) A Somatic Approach to the Defense System of the Enneagram. The program teaches us how to skillfully use the Somatic Awareness Practice to lead to more a more grounded way of being, with more resiliance, restoration and balance.
This is a certification program for therapists, coaches, spiritual directors, and others who work one-on-one with clients. However,
Who should attend?
> The program is open to anyone who seeks a deeper practice and personal enrichment. You should be familiar with your type and how it comes up for you, as this is not an introductory workshop.
> For psychotherapists, coaches, spiritual directors, social workers, medical professionals and other practitioners who work with clients one-on-one. This program offers the first two modules of Marion's Certification Program.
Marion Gilbert, R.P.T. has been practicing physical therapy since 1978 and is the owner of a well-established physical therapy practice and movement studio in Grass Valley, CA. She has co-taught "Deepening Spiritual Awareness", part of the Enneagram Professional Training Program (EPTP), and advanced Enneagram curriculum.
Saturdays, June 20 and 27 - Open to all!
with Terry Saracino and Renée Rosario
This class is ideal for newcomers to get a taste of the depth of the Narrative Enneagram. It's also a great refresher for members of our community with prior experience, or simply an opportunity to be in a learning or supportive field for connecting with others during these challenging times.
The Narrative Enneagram focuses on integrating three crucial aspects of personal development: the psychological, spiritual and somatic. We can work on each of these three elements separately, and there is much value in doing so. But working with these three areas together creates a synergy that greatly increases the effectiveness of personal growth work.
In this interactive 2-day online class, you'll learn an integrated approach that will strengthen your capacity to be "present" in day-to-day life, which can be especially challenging during these difficult times. Our focus will be on combining a deeper understanding of your patterns (psychological) with awareness practices (spiritual) that enable you to meet what arises in your body (somatic) with less resistance. It is challenging but ever so important work. The results are more choice around unconscious patterns, healthier relationships and living more authentically.
The format will include panel interviews in the Narrative Tradition, guided meditations, brief didactics, and breakout sessions. We look forward to being with you as we dive deeper into this sacred and profound system of transformation.
